Dr. Ramkrishna Makani is a highly experienced, double board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child/adolescent and adult psychiatry, practicing in New Jersey. Dr. Makani also has extensive expertise in interventional treatments, including Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Ketamine therapy. He is licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Dr. Makani earned a Master’s in Public Health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and obtained his medical degree from NHL Medical College in Gujarat, India, where he was awarded a scholarship for outstanding academic achievement. He completed his adult psychiatry residency at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is board-certified in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry.

With a broad range of experience, Dr. Makani has treated patients of all ages and backgrounds across various levels of care, including emergency room, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Dedicated to education, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Dr. Makani also currently leads interventional psychiatry services.
