Benefits Of A Single Session of Exercise in Our Blood
Introduction:
A new study by Reynolds reveals a single exercise session immediately improves 9,815 blood molecules, impacting metabolism, immunity, mood, and anxiety. Each body responds uniquely!
A Single Session of Exercise Alters 9,815 Molecules in Our Blood (Reynolds):
A new study explored the molecular changes that occur during and after exercise. Scientists used advanced techniques to analyze thousands of molecules in the bloodstream.
They studied 36 adult men and women with various fitness and health levels. After a treadmill endurance test, they measured 17,662 different molecules in their blood.
Over half of these molecules (9,815) changed after exercise, with some increasing and others declining.
The molecules were involved in fuelling, metabolism, immune response, tissue repair, and appetite.
Different people showed unique molecular responses to exercise. Those with insulin resistance showed different changes in certain molecules compared to those without.
The study revealed significant individualised and immediate effects of exercise on molecular profiles.
It did not explore the longer-term effects of exercise or include young volunteers under 40.
Future studies are planned to investigate sustained exercise programs and their molecular effects.
The findings underscore the broad impact of exercise on our bodies and highlight the uniqueness of each person's response.
