How do I know if my child has cerebral folate deficiency?
Cerebral folate deficiency is not always obvious and typically requires clinical evaluation and/or testing.
Some children with autism who have speech delays, developmental regression, or limited response to traditional therapies may be candidates for further evaluation.
The FRAT test is one tool that can help identify whether folate transport into the brain may be impaired. This is available to order through Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry to complete at your local lab testing facility.
