Could Leucovorin Unlock New Possibilities for Your Child?
Leucovorin for Autism: New hope for speech and connection
Leucovorin (folinic acid) is a breakthrough prescription treatment that helps restore folate to the brain when usual pathways are blocked. Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry is making Leucovorin treatment accessible nationwide.
- Licensed in 40+ states
- Led by double board-certified psychiatrist Dr. David Danish.
Why Leucovorin?
What looks like symptoms may actually be a blocked brain pathway.
For many children with autism, challenges with speech, behavior, or social connection aren’t from a lack of effort — they can be linked to folate receptor autoantibodies (FRAA), which block folate from entering the brain.
These antibodies block folate from reaching the brain, creating a hidden deficiency — even when blood tests appear normal.
When folate can’t reach the brain, Leucovorin helps open the door.
Leucovorin (folinic acid) is a prescription-grade form of folate that bypasses this blockade and restores folate directly to the brain. Unlike over-the-counter folate, Leucovorin is used in targeted, research-backed doses and has shown the potential to:
Improve speech and language
Support behavior and emotional regulation
Reduce neurological symptoms linked to cerebral folate deficiency
Leucovorin is a promising treatment option for children with autism
— and one that families across the U.S. are now gaining access to through Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry.
