Higher Level Care Options for Adults

There are multiple levels of care beyond traditional outpatient treatment (which is usually considered 1-2x per week therapy and monthly or bimonthly psychiatry visits). Here are some of the options in the Philadelphia area; we do not have any affiliation with any of the following options.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (aka "IOP", which are 90 mins, 3-5x per week) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (aka "Day Programs" held daily, 9am-3pm):

The Horsham Clinic
Offers inpatient and partial hospitalization programs in multiple regions and for various ages.

Senare
This is a newer program that has programs for all ages in many parts of Philadelphia.

Mirmont Treatment Center

Psychiatric Inpatient Hospitals are scattered around the region. Here are just a few to consider but keep in mind that you can present to your nearest medical ER to be evaluated and transferred to a psychiatric inpatient unit. You may not have a choice of where you are transferred though.

Bryn Mawr Behavioral Health Unit
This can be accessed through the Bryn Mawr ER, but bed availability plays a role.
