Autism Assessment Services

Autism Assessment Services

What is an Autism Assessment?

Autism Assessment Services are intended for individuals who suspect they or someone in their care may have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Symptoms include social challenges (not making eye contact, limited interaction with peers, limited verbal language, poor social skills etc.) and fixed interests/repetitive behaviors (rocking, flapping hands, insisting on rigid routines, intense interests in topics or activities, etc.) and can vary from mild to moderate to severe.

Autism Assessment Services include a full diagnostic assessment to determine if the individual presents with symptoms of autism. This includes a full developmental interview, administering a standardized autism assessment such as the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS), and completion of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). Following the assessment session we will compile a comprehensive report of the results as well as provide you with recommendations for follow-up services if needed.

What is the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)?

The ADOS is widely considered the gold standard in helping to diagnose autism in children, youth and adults. It is an observation based assessment which means our clinician will interact with the individual directly to get a clear picture of symptoms in session.

Our dedicated team, including experienced psychologists specializing in autism assessment, ensures a comprehensive evaluation for adults seeking an ASD assessment. Our services extend beyond autism, covering related conditions such as ADHD and autism. We prioritize providing accurate and timely assessments, fostering a supportive environment for individuals and their caregivers.

If you're considering an autism self-assessment or require the expertise of a qualified psychologist for autism assessment, our services are tailored to meet your specific needs. Contact us today to take the first step towards a thorough evaluation and understanding of autism spectrum disorders in adults.
